Retired US Army Special Forces Lieutenant Colonel Anthony Aguilar has terminated his contract with the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) and is speaking out about misconduct he witnessed during his work at aid distribution centers in Gaza especially the GHF.
Aguilar said he witnessed atrocities committed against Palestinian civilians by Israeli soldiers and American mercenaries, including indiscriminate firing into crowds, during his time with the GHF, according to HuffPost. He has shared his accounts with media outlets like the BBC and PBS, as well as with US Senator Chris Van Hollen. He asserts that he ended his contract due to these incidents and his belief that the GHF was effectively weaponizing food aid.
Smear campaign against him:
The GHF has vehemently denied Aguilar’s allegations, calling them “categorically false” and stating he is a “disgruntled former contractor who was terminated for misconduct,” according to Haaretz. They have also accused him of falsifying documents and presenting misleading videos, claims Aguilar refutes by stating his videos’ metadata and geolocation have been analyzed for credibility. The IDF has also reportedly launched an investigation into the allegations.
