Rescue teams in #Gaza found the bodies of 8 emergency responders from Palestine Red Crescent, 6 from Civil Defense and 1 from the United Nations.
“They were here to save lives. Instead, they ended up in a mass grave,” says our colleague Jonathan Whittall, on the ground supporting the operation.
Their emergency vehicles – clearly marked as ambulances, a fire truck and a UN car – were hit by Israeli forces and dumped under the sand.
Attacks against emergency responders and aid workers are unconscionable. These brutal, abhorrent acts demand accountability.

The Child Mais Abdel Aal… Her Skull Is Open and Maggots Are Eating Her Alive Mais, 10, was playing in her tent when a bullet from an Israeli quadcopter struck her. It pierced her skull, causing paralysis, nerve damage, and blindness. A portion of her skull was removed. Her condition is critical—her head remains open, the wound full of pus and infection. Every two days, it must be reopened and re-stitched. The most horrifying part: days ago, live maggots appeared inside her head. Doctors reopened her skull to remove them, but without proper medication and equipment, they are helpless. Mais suffers from severe pain, seizures, and high fever. Maggots are consuming her head while she is still alive. Mais urgently needs treatment abroad. Every minute counts. This is a humanitarian emergency—a tragedy in every sense. She must not be left alone—maggots are eating her head.

In a horrifying escalation, Israeli forces bombed the home of Palestinian photojournalist Abdulraheem Khodr in Jabalia al-Balad, North Gaza, where 40 civilians were sheltering. Only six bodies have been recovered confirmed killed while the rest, including all women and children, remain buried under the rubble. Shocking footage shows Palestinian Red Crescent teams evacuating civilians from the area under live fire. Israeli quadcopter drones shot at anyone crossing an invisible line, preventing rescuers from reaching the injured or retrieving trapped families.

“He was on his way to donate his kidney to his sick brother.” Akram Shaheen, who appeared in a video thrown 20 meters into the air by the force of the Israeli bombing of the Gaza European Hospital, was there to donate a kidney to his brother, who suffers from kidney failure. But the bombing shattered everything. Akram survived the bombing, unlike the others who didn’t. But now he suffers from severe brain hemorrhaging, ruptured nerves, and four fractured vertebrae in his spine.

10 June 2025: @gazanotice On May 26, a video showed paramedic Hussein Muhaysin rescuing a young girl from the flames after an Israeli attack on a school sheltering displaced families in Al-Daraj, Gaza City. Just moments ago, Israeli forces bombed an ambulance in Al-Tufah, Gaza City, killing Muhaysin and two other medics Wael Al-Attar and Bara’ Afanah as they were evacuating a trapped family.

13 June 2025: Gaza’s Health Ministry warns Israel is trying to shut down Nasser Hospital The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza says Israel has notified residents near Nasser Medical Complex that the area is now an “evacuation and operations zone,” triggering panic among patients and civilians. The Ministry accuses Israel of attempting to deliberately take the hospital out of service by bombing surrounding neighborhoods and forcing mass evacuations. Nasser is the only hospital in southern Gaza that provides specialized services like dialysis, ICU care, neonatal units, and surgeries. Its collapse, they warn, would result in the deaths of hundreds of patients and trigger a wider humanitarian catastrophe. Officials say this mirrors Israel’s earlier destruction of all hospitals in northern Gaza and urge urgent international action to protect the last functioning medical facilities in the south.

Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza

As a result of the Israeli occupation’s contact and notification to residents of the Nasser Medical Complex and its surroundings that it was an evacuation and operations zone, this caused panic among patients and citizens.

The Israeli occupation is increasing its deliberate efforts to take the complex out of service by targeting the surrounding residential areas and evacuating residents.

The Nasser Medical Complex is the only place in the Southern Governorate that provides specialized services such as dialysis, nurseries, intensive care, and surgical procedures. Its cessation would mean the deaths of hundreds of patients and a humanitarian disaster.

After the occupation emptied the Northern Gaza Governorate of hospitals, it continues with all arrogance to implement its plans to undermine the health system and empty the Southern Governorate of hospitals.

The Ministry of Health renews its urgent appeal to all concerned parties to intervene immediately to protect health facilities and enable them to continue providing medical care. Ministry of Health June 11, 2025

18 June 2025: Urgent warning from Dr. Ahmad Al-Farra – Director of the Tahrir Building for Pediatrics and Maternity at Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Younis: Within 48 hours, we may begin losing the lives of premature and newborn babies due to the depletion of their essential milk supply.
21 June 2025: Forty-eight hours after his first plea, Dr. Ahmad al-Farra, head of pediatrics at Nasser Medical Complex, has renewed his urgent call for immediate entry of premature and infant formula into Gaza. “The situation is critical,” he warned, as all newborns in the neonatal ICU now rely entirely on a specific formula that is nearly gone, with only 24 to 48 hours of supply left. Despite repeated appeals, not a single can has been allowed in. The Israeli blockade continues to deny even basic nutrition to Gaza’s most vulnerable infants. Dr. al-Farra is urging UNICEF, WHO, and international agencies to intervene now before more babies starve to death.
