On #WorldHealthDay: Israel’s ruthless attack on #Gaza‘s healthcare system uncovered!
Details & Video : In commemorating “World Health Day,” we, the #Palestinian people, confront the grim reality of six months of Israel’s unrelenting Israeli #genocide in Gaza, driven by an ideological fervor that has exacted a staggering toll on innocent Palestinian lives. The harrowing statistics paint a picture of devastation: 33,175 Palestinian civilians perished, with a staggering 70% comprising #women and #children, while 75,886 others suffer from grievous injuries. Such indiscriminate terror has plunged Gaza into a humanitarian abyss, where the most vulnerable among us – the young, the infirm, the elderly – bear the brunt of a ruthless onslaught.
As Dimitri Diliani, Spokesperson for Fateh’s Reformist #Democratic Faction, underscores, the deliberate targeting of civilian infrastructure, including #healthcare facilities, constitutes a flagrant violation of international law.
The wanton destruction has left 1.9 million Palestinians displaced, forced to endure overcrowded, unsanitary conditions devoid of basic necessities. With each passing day, the specter of disease looms larger, with communicable ailments proliferating among our besieged population, particularly among children under five.
The absence of adequate sanitation, clean water, and healthcare services only exacerbates their plight, rendering Gaza a breeding ground for illness and despair. The assault on Gaza’s healthcare system further compounds the suffering, with over 100 facilities subjected to relentless Israeli attacks, impeding access to lifesaving medical treatment.
The dire shortages of essential supplies and equipment resulting from the Israeli #blockade, coupled with a crippling lack of electricity and water due to the Israeli siege, render the remaining hospitals woefully ill-equipped to cope with the influx of casualties.
Tragically, those afflicted with #chronic illnesses, numbering over 350,000, find themselves abandoned amidst the genocide, deprived of vital medication and care. The recent passage of #UNSCR 2728 by the United Nations Security Council, while a welcome step, underscores the urgent need for a cessation of the genocide and unimpeded humanitarian access.
Yet, the obstinate refusal of the Israeli government to adhere to its provisions prolongs the suffering of innocent civilians, condemning them to a fate of famine and deprivation.
As Diliani asserts, the #ceasefire must be honored without delay, lest we witness the irreversible loss of countless lives, particularly among the most vulnerable segments of our population. In light of such profound human suffering, the international community stands poised at a critical juncture, called upon to take decisive action to prevent further catastrophe.
Mere rhetoric is no longer sufficient; concrete steps, such as halting #weapons sales to Israel and imposing economic sanctions on the #genocidal state, are imperative to alleviate the immense suffering endured by the Palestinian people. It is incumbent upon the world to heed our impassioned plea for justice and #solidarity, lest we condemn ourselves to a future marked by unfathomable #tragedy and irreparable loss.
