29 Feb, 2024: At least 104 hungry citizens have been killed and 1000 others wounded in an Israeli massacre in northern Gaza. Israeli tanks shelled thousands of hungry civilians, who were waiting for flour at Al Rasheed Street. Israeli snipers continue to target everyone approaching the victims in some locations. The director of Kamal Idwan Hospital told Al Jazeera that the victims were directly targeted in the upper part of the body, indicating that the intention was to kill.
The IDF claimed that people were just trampled and no one shot at them, despite the obvious footage of shooting.
The Security Council decided to hold an emergency session over the massacre.

The IDF’s conflicting stories

Update 1 March 2024
BBC EXPOSED ISRAEL EDITING FOOTAGE SHOWING THEM FIRE GUNS IN THE HUMANITARIAN AID (FLOUR) MASSACRE An inquiry conducted by the BBC reveals that Israel’s military lied about its role in the humanitarian aid (flour) massacre in northern Gaza on Thursday. The investigation highlights that Israel deliberately edited footage, hiding instances where BBC evidence confirms the presence of gunfire.
At Al-Awda hospital where many of the dead and injured were taken. Of the 176 injured Palestinians brought in 142 of them were brought in from IDF bullet injuries the rest from the stampede after the shootings.

Update 1 March, 2024
The US blocks a statement put forward by Algeria and backed by all UNSC’s 15 members to condemn the Israelis for the ‘flour massacre’. Clearly this gives Israel more impunity. The US claimed it is trying to verify the “circumstances around how people died” to see if “we can find some language that everyone can agree on”. The irony, of course, is that they stopped funding of UNRWA based on unverified allegations and without pausing to even consider evidence. Two months later even when the claims proved wrong, the US and its allies did not refund UNRWA.

On the second Flour Massacre

The Israeli army is yet again attempting to evade responsibility for killing around 80 Palestinians who were waiting for aid supplies, in another #FlourMassacre in Gaza City. But here is what Euro-Med Monitor’s initial investigations found. Israel’s most recent #FlourMassacre occurred near the Kuwait roundabout on the outskirts of #Gaza City, and left more than 80 dead and 200 injured, a number of whom are in critical condition. The Israeli army claims Palestinian gunmen caused the recent massacre, but Euro-Med Monitor’s investigation proves otherwise. The evidence points to Israeli weaponry and deliberate targeting of civilians awaiting aid supplies.
Euro-Med Monitor’s findings contradict the Israeli army’s video, which shows shooting at a different location from the massacre site. Victims were shot with bullets matching Israeli army-issued weapons, not by the individual in the video.
Eyewitness testimonies and field data confirm Israeli forces targeted civilians with artillery shells, machine gun fire from helicopters, drones, and tanks. Survivors recount harrowing experiences of being fired upon while seeking aid. The Israeli army’s attempts to evade responsibility through manipulated footage and baseless accusations are unacceptable. This is not an isolated incident but part of a systematic campaign to starve and displace Palestinians in Gaza. Starving Gazans, obstructing humanitarian aid, and then killing them demonstrate Israel’s genocidal intent. These actions violate international humanitarian law and constitute war crimes and crimes against humanity.
Euro-Med Monitor calls on the international community to intervene decisively to halt #Israel‘s starvation campaign, ensure unhindered delivery of aid, and hold Israel accountable for its crimes against the residents of Gaza.
