5 April: This morning the United Nations Human Rights Council voted on a resolution calling for a ban on arms sales to Israel. The resolution passed: 28 in favour & 6 against, with 13 abstentions. Never forget the countries that vote against such #humanitarian action. United States of America Germany Argentina Bulgaria Malawi Paraguay. Let’s remember the IDF are now shooting people trying to get food aid drops and leaving their bodies to be eaten by hungry dogs.
5 April: the UN Human Rights Council debated a resolution calling for a ban on arms sales to Israel. Germany opposed it because “the resolution insinuates Israel engages in apartheid & it accuses Israel of collective punishment.. & applying starvation as a method of warfare”
5 April: Six months on, the Israeli military campaign has brought relentless death & destruction to Gaza. Lives shattered. Children dying for lack of food & water. This is incomprehensible & entirely avoidable. Nothing can justify the collective punishment of the Palestinian people.

10 May: Assaf, MD @SohiubN : Take a look at the “NOPE” Act introduced by Mitt Romney. “No Official Palestine Entry Act of 2024” A law designed to expand the 1990s prohibition on U.N. recognition of a Palestinian state and requirement of the United States to cut funding to any U.N. organization that does recognize Palestine. The United States has to enshrine into law a ban on a Palestinian state, which is utterly comical.
cont.
Just to clarify. There’s as 1990s law that prohibits U.S. funding to any U.N. organization that recognizes Palestine is a full member state. This law expands on that previous law to include provisions that prohibit expansion of privileges as a nonmember state which we saw pass today.

14 June: Carl Skau @CarlSkau Deputy Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer, World Food Programme, @WFP: Just spent two days in #Gaza. From the south to the northernmost tip of the Strip, people are traumatised and exhausted. The level of destruction is shocking. And the challenges our staff are facing when doing their life-saving work are like nothing I have ever seen. 1 million displaced ppl in south #Gaza are trapped, without clean water or sanitation. It’s a public health and protection disaster. In the north, @WFP
